Actos

Actos, also known as pioglitazone, received FDA approved for the treatment of diabetes in 1999. In September 2010, a drug study raised concerns that the patient use of the medication increased risk of developing bladder cancer.

Following a year long investigation, in June 2011, the FDA issued a safety announcement and required the manufacturer to add a warning of increased risk of bladder cancer to the product label.
