Fosamax/Actonel
The law firm of Herren & Adams is currently reviewing cases involving Fosamax, Actonel, Aredia and Zometa. These medications are types of bisphosphonates and have been associated with the following debilitating side effects:
- Femur Fractures
- Osteonecrosis of the jaw, ONJ, otherwise known as dead jaw disease
- Osteomyelitis, inflammation of bone marrow.
The FDA is continually reporting the dangerous side effects of these medications and has recently changed the warning label on bisphosphonates to include the “risk of atypical fractures of the thigh, known as subtrochanteric and diaphyseal femur fractures,” in patients who take bisphosphonates for osteoporosis. In 2008, the FDA issued an alert explaining the severe, and often times incapacitating, bone, muscle and joint pain in patients taking these medications.
If you or someone you know has suffered from any of these painful side effects related to the above medications, we at Herren & Adams would welcome the opportunity to speak with you regarding your potential case.
